ACEN!

Rather unexpectedly, I’m finding myself actually able to make it to Anime Central in Rosemont this year. While C2E2 is definitely my preferred Chicago-area convention, I wasn’t able to make it this year, so the impromtpu chance to hit up ACen was a nice surprise. ACen was actually my first con, so it has a bit of nostalgia for me, though I haven’t been very up-to-date on recent anime culture. I have been wanting to delve back into it, but it’s such a time-consuming and costly hobby, ugh.

That said, I don’t know how much I’ll be around this weekend, since we’re all kind of shooting from the hoop and letting the weekend take us where it may. I might be able to post daily like I have been, or I might not be able to touch a computer all weekend. Only time will tell. I do know I plan on rocking out an updated version of last year’s Fluttershy cosplay on Saturday, and I’ll definitely be scoping out the Artist Alley for next year. Their tables are shockingly cheap (though they don’t include the price of admission like other cons sometimes do), and with Soulless and World Unknown Review on the horizon, I’ll have plenty to bring with me to promote in 2015. And, hopefully, I’ll get to check out a lot of cool new things and bring back some inspiration.

Anyone else happen to be going? I don’t think I have a lot of Chicagoans on the blog, and probably slightly fewer anime fans, too, but it never hurts to ask. Also I’m still looking for a few more beta-readers to have a look at Soulless; check out yesterday’s post for a bit more detail. It’s about 57,000 words, fantasy/horror/zombie genre, and I’d like edits back by June 27th at the latest! Just drop me a comment or shoot me an email. Those who already contacted me, I’m just brushing up a few things and then I’ll be sending them off to you soon!

Now, if only this god-awful sinus headache would go away. Urgh.
