“Locke felt as though they were like wild dogs, circling each other with bared teeth, trying to pick up the scent of who would attack first.”
Today’s check-in will be a pretty brief one. I’m a little bummed because my plans to spend most of the day working on my writing and getting this new apartment straightened up were dashed when I got a call from my boss asking me to come in today, so a measly three hour shift at my other job has now turned into a twelve-hour day. Yuck. But tomorrow morning I’ll have a chance to write and all day Friday, so I just have to hold out until then. I’m used to that, anyway, what with Friday being payday. The bleak weather we’ve been having hasn’t been helping, either. I miss the sunshine and warmth!
So I feel there hasn’t been much going on since the last check-in, but let’s have a look:
Serpent in a Cage: Finally broke page 100! This chapter seems never ending, but I think I’m finally getting to the its conclusion and will be able to move on to the next part…if I don’t have it done by Thursday, I will be very disappointed.
750 Words: I’ve been keeping up on my 750 words and started a draft for the Cake song I Bombed Korea and some brainstorming on the others. Not a whole lot, but I’ve been keeping up my word count, and that’s what matters. Today will probably be another brainstorming page. I don’t think I’ll get to writing today and I’ll be too tired for coherency when I get home.
Novel in 6 Months: Still plodding along; I haven’t been doing the 45 minutes, but I have been doing the 500 words a day, and shit is starting to get categorically creepy, which is good. Page count: 27. Word count: 17,619/80,000.
NaNoWriMo: Thought a little on NaNo in the shower this morning, lol. I will probably go with SiaC‘s sequel, though I did tinker around with a vampire idea the other day.
0 to 70: “Just Right” is all copy-pasta’d and ready to be edited once I get the time. In its rough form, it’s about 10,191 words. Not too shabby! Now if only I had time to edit it…
The 100 Books Project: I’ve decided to include my reading goals in my check-ups. I highly doubt I’ll get to 100 books by the end of the year at this point, so my goal is 78, which is one more than the last time I did this project. I’m almost certain I’ll finish the next book either tomorrow or Friday, so that will be good.
How’s everyone else doing? I won’t have time to bop around today as I like to do, but maybe I can catch up tomorrow! Happy writing, everyone!
Do you ever get to take time to actually, you know, BREATHE? LOL. I really wish I had your energy.
You’ve been doing a great job on your goals. You set them pretty high, so don’t expect perfection. π Seriously, you’re doing wonderfully. Keep up the good work!
Reading your goals made me tired! You’re doing spectular (in my humble opinion). Good work, and that’s a bummer about your job. I hate when that happens.
Great progress, congratulations! I wish I could be half as productive as you!
Wow, you have a lot on your plate. I commend your progress, and hope today has been an excellent writing day (with none of that unexpected life stuff). π
Sounds like you had a productive first half of the week. Congrats on breaking page 100!
