Winsome, Losesome.

Some of you who are friends with me on Facebook may have noticed a post from me the other day despairing about the state of my laptop. Unfortunately, not much has changed on that front; I still have a busted, nonfunctioning piece of machinery that is doing me absolutely no good right now. Which has been a challenge, because nearly everything I do in the writing world is tied to that one single laptop. Arrrg.

While there will be some frustration in getting back a lot of files and digging through various emails, there is also the inconvenience of not being able to type or edit or email as easily as before. There are some glimpses of light in this dark cloud, though. Due to some certain circumstances, my boyfriend’s driver’s license was suspended, so I’m his transportation to work. Good thing we work at the same place! Not as good that our shifts are usually set up so that I have to wait about two hours after I’m done before he’s done. But wait! There are two computers in the team member area in back! So it looks like I’ll be using my waiting time to send out stories, type up blogs, and conduct whatever business I can.

There’s also the fact that the new apartment smack dab in the middle of three local libraries, all within easy walking distance. So I just have to see which one has the best computer availability and go from there on days when I’m not killing time at work. Personally, I hope it’s the Riverside Public Library; that building looks like a freaking castle.

It’ll definitely be an adjustment, but it’s very encouraging to know that I have options. And odds are that these computers are going to be a lot less frustrating than my slow ass laptop, anyway.

Meanwhile, I haven’t had a chance to do much promotion on this month’s Featured Story from the 2015 World Unknown Review.
