“Whatever you are by nature, keep to it; never desert your own line of talent. Be what nature intended you for, and you will succeed; be anything else and you will be ten thousand times worse than nothing.” -Sydney Smith
I’m keeping things fairly short and simple today; often, on Saturday mornings, I have difficulty coming up with something to write about in this blog, and that’s okay. So I went searchign for a potential quote, and I found this one, and I think it’s best to just let it mostly stand for itself.
A lot of writers will ask: why do we write? What is it about writing that instantly draws us to want to be a writer? And I always answer with a statement that writing is the one thing I know I want to do. This quote from Sydney Smith says it more eloquently than I ever could: writing is what nature intended for me, and, because of that, by embracing that and reveling in my natural talent, I will succeed. And so will you. Never lose sight of that.
Thank you for sharing this. It’s very inspiring.
