Random Tidbits.

In contrast to February, March seems to be a very slowly moving month, and I think that might possibly be because I’m just not getting into the novel for this month as much as I thought I would. I’m still attempting to plod on with it, but I’ll be very glad when it’s April and I can attempt something new and different. I knew this widow story was much better suited for a short story, but at least I gave it a try.

On the 100 Books project, I’m a little bit behind. I should be at about 20 to 25 at this point, if I expect to get to 100 by the end of the year, and I’m at 14. It could be worse, so I think I can pick it up with a few periods of major reading here and there.

I did hear back from Blood Lotus yesterday. They weren’t interested in The Wartburg Incident, so it’s off to find another journal that might have an editor who would appreciate an account of a random historical tidbit about Martin Luther and the devil. As far as craft goes, I think it’s one of my best written pieces, but it’s inspired by such an obscure little fact (a stain on the wall of Wartburg Castle where Luther was said to have thrown his inkjar at the devil) that it’s really got to find the right niche.

The weather is cold and dreary and Elizabeth Taylor has passed away; I’m feeling terribly uninspired today.
